Pair gorilla trekking with chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu Forest, a lesser-known primate reserve near Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 1: Kampala to Bwindi

Drive southwest from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, arriving in the late afternoon and preparing for the following day's gorilla trek with an evening briefing.

Scenic drive into the Kigezi hills

Overnight: Lodge, Bwindi

Day 2: Gorilla Trek then transfer to Kalinzu Forest

Morning gorilla trekking, spending an hour with your assigned family deep in the forest. After lunch, drive roughly 2.5 hours north to Kalinzu Forest Reserve near Queen Elizabeth National Park, checking into your lodge in the evening.
